What’s in it for us?

Having people of different ages and backgrounds from the local community working alongside us is invaluable as it allows us to gain many different perspectives on our processes, products and services.

These ‘fresh eyes’ help us to make sure we are meeting the needs of our members and the local community and keeping our offerings relevant. It also helps us to future proof the credit union as an organisation, ensuring that we will be around for many years to come, providing employment in the community and financial services and support for our members.

"Volunteering as a Board Member at Mountmellick Credit Union over the past couple of years has been an incredibly rewarding experience. From the very beginning, I was welcomed as a valued member of the team and given the opportunity to contribute to important decisions that prioritize the best interests of our community. The management team has been exceptional in supporting my development, providing in-person training sessions and tracking CPD hours to ensure continuous learning. The most fulfilling part of this role is collaborating with my fellow board members to review and implement initiatives that support our community while upholding the governance standards set by the Central Bank. It’s truly inspiring to be part of a team so dedicated to making a positive impact."
