What’s in it for us?

What’s in it for us?

Having people of different ages and backgrounds from the local community working alongside us is invaluable as it allows us to gain many different perspectives on our processes, products and services.

These ‘fresh eyes’ help us to make sure we are meeting the needs of our members and the local community and keeping our offerings relevant. It also helps us to future proof the credit union as an organisation, ensuring that we will be around for many years to come, providing employment in the community and financial services and support for our members. Our volunteer directors also ensure the credit union operates in line with legal, regulatory, and ethical standards.

"Being a volunteer Board Member at Mountmellick Credit Union has been so rewarding. I am learning about financial governance, management and oversight. I've been given access to training courses and have increased my knowledge. Working with others to support the Credit Union has been so rewarding and knowing that there is an alternative financial option for people in our community makes it so worthwhile. If you're considering being a part of it, just get in touch!"
