Supporting the U20 Women’s National Basketball Team
Mountmellick Credit Union is thrilled to support Emer Dunne and the Under 20 Women’s National Basketball Team, who this month travelled to Hungary to compete in the FIBA Women’s EuroBasket Championships.
Emer, a proud Clonaslee native, began her basketball journey with Clonaslee Basketball Club – a club we were delighted to begin supporting in 2024 through our Community Fund initiative.
From her early days on the local court, Emer progressed to Superleague level before earning her place on Ireland’s U20 team. At the Championships, the team delivered a fantastic performance, finishing 7th overall in Europe after a strong win against Ukraine yesterday.
We were also lucky winners in Basketball Ireland’s Sponsorship Draw, earning the privilege of having the MMCU logo proudly displayed on the team’s match jerseys – and don’t they look great!
Congratulations to Emer, the entire squad, and everyone behind the scenes for such an inspiring achievement.
